Power is nothing without control!

Electrified vehicles contain power electronic actuators in many places, which are used to control the power flows in the vehicle. The energy-optimized and efficient control of these power electronic components influences the characteristics of the vehicle. To increase the efficiency of these power electronic components, new topologies and modern power semiconductors are being developed that have to be controlled using innovative control methods.

Your Tasks:

As part of the design of these control processes, we offer a wide range of tasks in the field of innovative modulation processes, new types of current control or energy-optimized setpoint specifications:

• Innovative control methods for a (bidirectional) DC/DC converter
• Innovative control methods for an on-board charger
• Energy-efficient modulation methods (PWM)
• Modulation method and current control of a 3-level inverter
• Coordination and control of the operating modes of integrated power electronics

A combination or sequence of internship and thesis is possible. Please let us know your preferred IAV location.

Necessary Skills:

• Ongoing studies in mechatronics, industrial engineering or electrical engineering, e.g. specializing in measurement, control or automation technology, drive or energy technology and power electronics
• Sound knowledge of the functioning of the electric drive train and/or the control of electric drives
• Sound knowledge of the functionality and design of power electronic circuits
• Sound knowledge of the control of power electronic circuits
• Fluency in German and/or English (at least C1 level) 

Desired Skills:

• Strong logical thinking and ability to abstract complex relationships
• High level of commitment and ability to grasp new skills independently

Remuneration is based on our collective wage and salary agreement. The current monthly salary for this position is EUR 979.00.
