Path planning is a crucial area of robotics that deals with the strategy for determining the most efficient path from a starting point to a destination. Path planning uses algorithms to overcome obstacles and ensure that a robot or vehicle navigates without collision. From logistics, personal transportation and agriculture to energy and public safety, this area of technology is our world. We are looking for dedicated interns in the field of “Path planning in unstructured environments” for a period of approx. 6 months.

Your Tasks:

  • You will be involved in ongoing projects for manned or unmanned systems.
  • You support the design and further development of prototypes.
  • You will expand and refine simulation environments.
  • You will be involved in the development of new software functions in current subject areas.
  • You will help to carry out tests and analyses to improve existing systems.

Necessary Skills:

  • Ongoing studies in electrical engineering, aviation, computer science, mathematics or a comparable field of study
  • High level of commitment and ability to grasp new skills
  • Independent and reliable way of working
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Fluency in German and/or English to at least C1 level

Desired Skills:

  • Ideally initial knowledge of robotics and ROS/ROS2
  • Good programming skills (e.g. C++, Python)
  • Experience in working with simulation tools 
  • Initial experience in the field of path planning
  • Algorithmic knowledge: A*, Dijkstra, Hybrid A*, RRT, reinforcement learning, multi-agent pathfinding, etc.

 

Remuneration is based on our collective wage and salary agreement. The current monthly salary for this position is EUR 979.00.
