Current vehicles already feature a wide range of complex driver assistance systems (Advanced Driver Assist Systems). Through the further development and networking of these assistance systems, future generations of vehicles will be able to drive in a highly automated manner initially and ultimately completely autonomously. In addition to these technical developments, IAV GmbH is also constantly working to improve its internal work and development processes so that they can meet the challenges and complexity of future mobility projects. Some of our areas of expertise in the field of driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control, active pedestrian protection, blind spot detection, parking assistance, light and vision assistance, driver monitoring, emergency braking systems, PreCrash Rear/Front/Side View, lane change assistant, and Car2XSafety. As part of these activities, we are looking for motivated and committed student assistants from various disciplines for a working student position, an internship, or a thesis (bachelor's/master's) with the following main areas of activity:
Your Tasks:

You will familiarize yourself with current and future-oriented activities in the field of lighting assistance.

You will work independently on tasks in the area of application and validation.

You will assist with test and trial drives.

You will work on the development and refinement of internal measurement technology and software-supported measurement procedures.

You will prepare the necessary documentation for the activities.
The activities will mainly take place on site in Ingolstadt. Mobile working is possible in some cases and only by arrangement.
Necessary Skills:
- Advanced studies in automotive engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field of study
- Interest in automobiles and the development of innovative functions for driver assistance systems
- Class B driver's license
- Very good German (at least C1 level) and good English (at least B2 level) skills, both written and spoken
Desired Skills:

Theoretical expertise in the field of driver assistance systems

Practical experience in the design or manufacture of prototype parts

Practical experience with at least one of the following programming languages: Python, C, C#, C++

High level of commitment and aptitude for acquiring new skills

Ability to work in a team, commitment, creativity, and willingness to learn, even in stressful situations

Goal-oriented and independent way of working

Very good communication skills

Class BE driver's license
