The automotive industry is undergoing profound change. Electromobility, data driven methods, and highly complex vehicle systems are shaping the development of resource efficient and low CO₂ vehicles. A key enabler in this context is the acquisition, processing, and analysis of vehicle related measurement and environmental data, allowing errors and optimization potential to be identified early in the development process and innovative solutions to be introduced in a timely manner.
Within the Data Analytics and Fleet Validation department at IAV GmbH, large volumes of data are automatically pre processed and analyzed on a daily basis to generate valuable insights for vehicle development.
As a working student, you will support our customer projects on the hardware side of data acquisition. Your main responsibilities include the development of measurement concepts, the setup of simple electronic circuits, and the integration of measurement technology and data loggers into test vehicles and test benches.
You will work closely with our data analytics team, gain access to the required IT infrastructure, and benefit from structured mentoring by our experienced experts.

Your Tasks:

  • You develop measurement concepts
  • You build small electronic circuits and wiring harnesses
  • You integrate and implement measurement technology and data loggers in test vehicles
  • You configure data loggers
  • You perform measurement data analyses

Necessary Skills:

  • Ongoing studies in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field of study
  • Good German language skills at least at B2 level
  • Knowledge of vehicle engineering and automotive electronics
  • Basic programming skills (e.g. Java, Python)
  • Willingness to work on site in Gifhorn and directly on the vehicle

Remuneration is based on our collective agreement and pay scale. The current hourly wage for this position is EUR 17.52.
