This challenge awaits you:
Each individual component is perfectly optimized, but nobody has an eye for the system as a whole? - Not with us!
Modern digitally networked vehicles contain complex systems with multiple interfaces that influence each other. The task of systems engineering is to maintain an overview of this complex system network, to analyse the effects of a change in the system network and to optimize the system network. In the field of power electronics, there is currently a trend towards highly integrated components in electrified vehicles. On the one hand, this offers new opportunities to exploit synergies, but on the other hand it increases the complexity of a component. System analyses, optimizations, effective development processes and a clear system architecture are therefore necessary for the development of modern power electronics in electrified vehicles.
Your Tasks:
- You are responsible for the further development of the system and software architecture.
- You further develop the tool chain for the development of functional software (interface management, requirements linking, simulation environment, ...).
- You investigate new power electronics topologies for integrated power electronics.
- You will be involved in circuit design and layout for power electronic devices.
A combination or sequence of internship and thesis is possible. Please let us know your preferred IAV location.
Necessary Skills:
- Ongoing studies in mechatronics, industrial engineering or electrical engineering, e.g. specializing in measurement, control or automation technology, drive or energy technology and power electronics
- Sound knowledge of the functioning of the electric drive train and/or the control of electric drives
- Sound knowledge of the functioning and structure of power electronic circuits
- Fluency in German and/or English (at least C1 level)
Desired Skills:
- Strong logical thinking and ability to abstract complex relationships
- Initial experience and specialist knowledge of modeling
- High level of commitment and ability to grasp new skills independently
